Exciting News for Rebecca Yarros Fans

Bestselling author Rebecca Yarros has exciting news: her 2023 romance novel, In the Likely Event, is set to be adapted into a feature film by Netflix. This adaptation was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter on October 21, showcasing Yarros’ growing prominence in the literary and entertainment world.

A Glimpse into the Storyline

In the Likely Event follows the journey of Izzy Astor and Nate Phelan, whose fates intertwine after a plane crash into the Missouri River. With Nate joining the military and Izzy venturing into a political career, their paths unpredictably cross again in Afghanistan. This narrative beautifully captures themes of love, resilience, and sacrifice, making it a compelling choice for adaptation.

The Creative Team Behind the Adaptation

The film adaptation will be penned by screenwriter Lindsey Ferrentino, under the supervision of Kira Cousineau for Netflix and Brian Williams for Dylan Clark Productions. Rebecca Yarros expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be working… to bring In the Likely Event to life.” As Yarros anticipates seeing her characters portrayed by a talented group of creators, fans can also look forward to what this emotional story will bring to the screen.

Beyond In the Likely Event, Yarros’ bestselling fantasy novel Fourth Wing is also in the process of being adapted into a television series. This indicates a growing trend where Yarros’ work captures significant attention both in literature and on screen.
