In a thrilling announcement, Jonathan Van Ness, known for his role on ‘Queer Eye’, has teamed up with acclaimed author Julie Murphy to create a remarkable young adult novel titled ‘Let Them Stare’. The Story of Sully

‘Let Them Stare’ follows the journey of Sully, a gender-nonconforming teenager from the small town of Hearst, Pennsylvania. As Sully dreams of escaping to the city for a summer internship, their plans take an unexpected turn, leaving them stranded in Hearst. In a quest for self-discovery, Sully begins spending time at a local thrift store, where they stumble upon a vintage bag that contains the spirit of Rufus, a drag performer from the 1950s. This unique dynamic between Sully and Rufus leads them on an adventure to help Rufus cross over, all while uncovering the hidden history of queer acceptance in their hometown.

Jonathan Van Ness is no stranger to the literary world, having authored several books for young readers, including ‘Peanut Goes for the Gold’ and ‘Gorgeously Me’. Julie Murphy is renowned for her best-selling works, such as the ‘Dumplin” companion novels and her latest release, ‘A Jingle Bell Mingle’.
