Embracing Identity
Liev Schreiber, the renowned actor known for his roles in films such as X-Men, has taken a public stance on his daughter Kai’s recent coming out as transgender. In an interview with Variety, he expressed immense pride in Kai’s decision to live authentically. Schreiber remarked, “Kai was always who Kai is,” emphasizing the importance of identity and self-expression.

A Supportive Family
The transition for Kai has been a significant moment for the family. Liev described the profound experience of Kai asking her parents to change her pronouns, stating, “to be honest with you, it didn’t feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long.” With unwavering support from both Liev and his ex-wife Naomi Watts, the family embraces this new chapter in Kai’s life with love and understanding.
Advocating for LGBTQ+ Youth
Beyond personal support, Schreiber is also committed to aiding the wider LGBTQ+ community, particularly marginalized trans youth. He acknowledges that not every young person has the privilege that Kai enjoys as the child of celebrities. As a result, he plans to support the Ali Forney Center, an organization that offers housing and vital resources for homeless LGBTQ+ individuals. He highlights the critical situation faced by many trans youth, stating, “these are people who are being rejected… and some of them are not surviving it.” Through his advocacy, Schreiber hopes to shine a light on these pressing issues while encouraging compassion and activism within the community.
