Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo met on ‘The Bachelorette’ and wed in August 2019

The chiropractor, 43, filed for divorce in Los Angeles, listing Sunday as the date of separation and citing “irreconcilable differences.”

“After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew,” Abasolo wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “My parents have been married forever and I’m a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go. I wanted you to hear it from the source before the blogs start making up their own reality. Please respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps.”

One day before the divorce news broke, Lindsay, 38, posted on her Instagram Story from fitness studio Barry’s Bootcamp, writing that she was “sweating out everything from 2023.”
In a December episode of Nick Viall’s Viall Files podcast, Lindsay explained why she and Abasolo — who met on her season of The Bachelorette in 2017 and tied the knot in August 2019 — kept their relationship largely private.

“We don’t put ourselves out there at all [except] maybe an anniversary or a holiday, but I think I did that because people were so critical of us when we came off the show,” Lindsay told Viall, 43.

The Real Love author also said she wanted to be purposeful about what she shared. “Marriage has ups and downs, but you never know when we’re good or when we’re not because we never put it out there,” Lindsay continued. “I kind of want to keep it that way, so when I want to share something, I do.”
After leaving The Bachelorette, the couple lived on separate coasts, with Lindsay in Los Angeles working on her career, while Abasolo focused on his chiropractor business in Miami.

“I didn’t move to L.A. because I just love the city,” Lindsay told Abasolo on his Dr. Abs Healthcast podcast. “You’re focusing on your practice and building it to a place you want it to be, and I am here in L.A. working for Extra and doing other things, and we’re doing this to eventually bring ourselves together.”

At the time, they stressed that they don’t plan to live apart forever, saying they “have a timeline.”
