Chris “Ludacris” Bridges is a total Grinch, and it’s up to Lil Rel Howery to help him find the Christmas spirit in the trailer for the upcoming film Dashing Through the Snow, premiering Friday, Nov. 17 on Disney+.
The movie stars Bridges as Eddie Garrick, an all-around good man and social worker for the Atlanta police department who has turned his back on Christmas “due to a traumatic childhood experience,” per the official synopsis. But when his wife Allison (played by The Marvels’ Teyonah Parris), from whom he is separated, asks him to take their nine-year-old daughter Charlotte (Madison Skye Validum) out with him on Christmas Eve, they encounter a mysterious man in a red suit named Nick (Lil Rel Howery).
Eddie believes Nick is delusional and in need of professional help. But when Eddie “evokes the wrath of a local politician (The Office’s Oscar Nuñez),” he and his daughter “are taken on a magical adventure that just might restore his faith in Christmas.”
Scott Rosenberg (Venom, Jumanji: The Next Level) wrote the script. Meanwhile, Tim Story (The Blackening, Shaft) directed the film and executive-produces alongside Johanna Byer, Ross Fanger and Zac Unterman. John Jacobs (Family Guy, American Dad!) and Will Packer (Queens Court, Girls Trip) also produce.
